Set up the subscriber Preference Center

The Preference Center is a hosted, self-service page where subscribers update their contact details and choose which communications they want to receive. Giving subscribers granular control (instead of an all-or-nothing unsubscribe) protects deliverability, keeps your data current, and reduces hard opt-outs.

Before you begin

  • Confirm you have permission to manage account-level audience and subscription settings (confirm the exact steps in your account).
  • Decide which subscription categories (for example, Newsletters, Product Updates, Events) you want subscribers to opt in and out of.
  • Have your branding assets ready — logo, colors, and any header or footer text.
  • Know which subscriber fields you want to expose as editable (name, job title, region) versus display-only or hidden.

Steps

  1. Open the audience or subscription settings area and locate the Preference Center configuration.
  2. Define your subscription categories or lists, and write a short, subscriber-friendly label and description for each.
  3. Choose which subscriber profile fields appear on the page and mark each as editable, read-only, or hidden.
  4. Apply your branding (logo, colors, and any legal or support text) so the page matches your other communications.
  5. Set the confirmation behavior — the message or page subscribers see after saving changes.
  6. Add the Preference Center link to your Editions. Use a personalization token or the built-in preferences link rather than a static URL so each subscriber lands on their own record (confirm the exact token in your account).
  7. Publish the page and send yourself a test Broadcast to verify the link resolves correctly.

Result

When subscribers click the link in a Broadcast, they reach a page pre-populated with their record. Saved changes update the subscriber's profile and subscription choices immediately, and category-level opt-outs are honored on future sends without removing the subscriber from your audience entirely.
