Create a static list
A static list is a fixed set of subscribers that only changes when you add or remove members yourself. Unlike a dynamic segment, it does not update automatically as subscriber data changes — which makes it a good fit for a known, stable audience such as event invitees, a beta group, or an internal team.
Before you begin
- Confirm you have permission to create and manage audiences in your account.
- Have your subscriber data ready — typically a spreadsheet or CSV with at least an email (or mobile) column, plus any personalization fields you want to store.
- Make sure email addresses are clean and consented; the account-wide suppression list will still be honored on send.
- Decide on a clear, descriptive list name so it is easy to find when you build a Broadcast.
Steps
- Open the audiences area and choose to create a new list, selecting the static (fixed) type rather than a dynamic segment. (confirm the exact steps in your account)
- Give the list a descriptive name and, optionally, a short description of its purpose.
- Add subscribers by importing a file (map your columns to the matching subscriber fields) or by adding contacts individually.
- Review the import summary for skipped or invalid rows, and correct any flagged records.
- Save the list.
Result
The list appears in your audiences with a member count. You can now select it as the audience when you build and send a Broadcast, and add or remove members at any time to keep it current.
