Add a subscriber manually

Adding a single subscriber by hand is the quickest way to bring one person into an audience — useful for testing a Broadcast, onboarding a new colleague, or fixing a record that didn't import cleanly. You enter the email address and any field values yourself, so there's no file to prepare.

Before you begin

  • Access to the audience (list or segment) you want to add the subscriber to.
  • The subscriber's email address, and a mobile number if you also send SMS.
  • Any personalization field values you want to store (for example first name, company, or region). (Confirm which fields exist in your account.)
  • Confirmation that you have permission to contact this person, so you stay compliant with consent rules.

Steps

  1. Open the audience you want to add the subscriber to.
  2. Choose the option to add a single subscriber — typically an Add or New subscriber action. (Confirm the exact label in your account.)
  3. Enter the subscriber's email address. This is the unique key that identifies the record.
  4. Fill in any additional field values (name, company, and so on). Blank fields are allowed — you can complete them later.
  5. Set the subscription status if prompted, so the subscriber is active and eligible to receive a Broadcast.
  6. Save the record.

Result

The subscriber now appears in the audience and is ready to receive a Broadcast. Open the record to confirm the email address and field values saved correctly. If the address already existed, the platform updates the existing record rather than creating a duplicate.
