Format Text, Headings, and Styles

Style copy with headings, lists, spacing, and emphasis inside a content item so your Edition reads clearly and stays on brand across email clients.

Before you begin

  • Open the Edition you want to work on from its Folder and select the text content item you want to format.
  • Have your brand's fonts, colors, and heading conventions handy so styling stays consistent.
  • Remember that email clients render styles inconsistently. Favor simple, well-supported formatting over fine-grained control.
  • (confirm the exact toolbar and menu labels in your account)

Steps

  1. Click into the text content item to open the inline editor and place your cursor where you want to format.
  2. Select the text you want to change, then apply structure first: use the paragraph/heading style control to mark headings (for example a main heading and subheadings) rather than just enlarging text. Real headings improve readability and accessibility.
  3. Apply emphasis with the bold, italic, and underline controls. Use emphasis sparingly so it keeps its impact.
  4. Create bulleted or numbered lists with the list controls to break up dense copy into scannable points.
  5. Adjust alignment and spacing (paragraph spacing or blank lines) to give the content room to breathe. Avoid relying on many empty lines for large gaps.
  6. Set text color and, where offered, font and size to match your brand. Keep contrast high enough to stay legible on light and dark backgrounds.
  7. When pasting from another document, use a paste-as-plain-text option if available, then re-apply styles so stray formatting doesn't carry over.

Result

Your copy shows consistent headings, readable lists, and purposeful emphasis. Preview the Edition (and, if available, send a test to yourself) to confirm the formatting holds across desktop and mobile before you schedule the Broadcast.
