Start an Edition from a Template

Templates give you a pre-built layout — header, body regions, footer, and brand styling — so you can start writing straight away instead of designing an email from scratch. This keeps every Edition on-brand and consistent, and saves time when you send regularly.

Before you begin

  • Access to a Folder (Project Folder) where you can create new Editions.
  • A clear idea of the message type you're building (for example a newsletter, an announcement, or a simple text-style note) so you can match it to a template.
  • Any brand assets you'll swap in, such as your logo or hero image, ready to upload.

Steps

  1. Open the Folder where the new Edition should live.
  2. Start a new Edition and choose to begin from a template rather than a blank canvas. (confirm the exact steps in your account)
  3. Browse the available templates. These typically include your organization's saved/branded templates alongside a set of standard starter layouts.
  4. Preview a template to check its structure and styling, then select it to create your Edition from it.
  5. Give the Edition a clear name so it's easy to find later in the Folder.
  6. Replace the placeholder content — headline, body text, images, and links — with your own, and adjust colors or spacing if your template allows it.
  7. Save your work, then preview the Edition to see how it renders.

Result

You have a new Edition in your chosen Folder that already carries the template's layout and branding. From here you can keep editing, add personalization tokens, test it, and move on to scheduling a Broadcast.
