Rewrite with Smart Brevity

Smart Brevity rewriting trims wordy copy into shorter, scannable content — a strong lead sentence, tighter phrasing, and fewer words to skim — so subscribers get the point fast. Use it on a paragraph, a section, or a whole block while you build an Edition.

Before you begin

  • You need edit access to an Edition and a text block that already contains draft copy.
  • Have the AI Assist tools enabled for your account. If you don't see them, ask your admin to turn them on (confirm the exact steps in your account).
  • Know your key message. Smart Brevity sharpens what you wrote — it works best when the draft already says the right thing.

Steps

  1. Open the Edition and place your cursor in the text block you want to tighten.
  2. Select the specific copy to rewrite. Highlighting a paragraph or section gives more focused results than rewriting the whole block.
  3. Open the AI Assist menu and choose the Smart Brevity (rewrite shorter) option (confirm the exact label in your account).
  4. Review the suggested rewrite in the preview. Regenerate if you want an alternative version.
  5. Accept to replace the selected copy, or copy the parts you like and edit by hand.
  6. Re-check any personalization tokens, links, and brand terms — always read the final wording before you send.

Result

The selected copy is replaced with a shorter, punchier version that leads with the main point. Nothing sends automatically: your changes stay in the draft Edition until you preview, test, and Broadcast it.
