Create a Short Link
Shorten a tracked link so it takes less space, which is especially useful in SMS messages where every character counts.
A short link replaces a long destination URL with a compact, branded link that still records clicks. Because the short link is tracked, you keep full click reporting even though subscribers see a much shorter address.
Before you begin
- An Edition (or SMS message) that is open for editing, with the link you want to shorten already added.
- Confirm your account is set up for tracked links and, if offered, a branded short-link domain (confirm the exact steps in your account).
- The full destination URL you want subscribers to reach.
Steps
- Open the Edition and select the link (or the button/text) you want to shorten.
- Open the link's settings and paste or confirm the full destination URL.
- Turn on tracking for the link if it is not already enabled, so clicks are recorded.
- Choose the option to shorten the link. The platform generates a compact tracked short link that maps to your destination (confirm the exact steps in your account).
- If a branded short-link domain is available, select it so the short link carries your own domain.
- Save the Edition and send a test to yourself to verify the short link resolves correctly.
Result
The link now appears as a short, tracked address. When a subscriber taps it, they are redirected to the original destination, and the click is counted in your reports. In SMS, the shorter link leaves more room for your message and reduces the risk of splitting into multiple message segments.
