Add Canva designs to an Edition

Connect Canva so Authors can import finished designs and graphics straight into their Editions, without downloading and re-uploading files by hand. Once the integration is enabled, Authors pick a Canva design while editing an Edition and the exported image is placed into the content.

Before you begin

  • You need an administrator role to enable or authorize the Canva integration for your account. Individual Authors do not need admin rights to use it once it is turned on.
  • Have a Canva account (or organization workspace) that the designs live in, and sign-in credentials ready to authorize the connection.
  • Confirm your account's plan includes third-party integrations. (confirm the exact steps in your account)
  • Decide whether Authors should import from a shared team workspace or their own Canva accounts, so you authorize the right one.

Steps

  1. Open the integrations or add-ons area of your account settings and locate the Canva connector. (confirm the exact steps in your account)
  2. Choose to connect or enable Canva, then sign in to Canva when prompted and grant access so the platform can read your designs.
  3. If offered, select which workspace or folder of designs to make available to Authors, and save the connection.
  4. Open an Edition, place your cursor where the graphic should go, and add an image using the Canva option in the content or image tools.
  5. Pick the design in Canva, let it export, and adjust the placement, alt text, and link on the inserted image as needed.

Result

The Canva design appears in your Edition as a standard image that you can resize, link, and personalize. Authors can now insert Canva graphics on their own, and re-importing an updated design pulls in the latest export. Send yourself a test Broadcast to confirm the image renders correctly across email clients.
