Connect Salesforce to sync contacts and audiences
Link your Salesforce org so leads, contacts, and campaign activity flow between Salesforce and the platform. Once connected, contacts stay current on both sides and you can build audiences from Salesforce fields without manual exports.
Before you begin
- Admin access in both the platform and your Salesforce org (a System Administrator or a profile allowed to authorize connected apps).
- Decide which direction data should flow: pull subscribers from Salesforce, push engagement back, or both.
- Know which Salesforce object and fields you'll map (typically Leads and Contacts, plus the email field and any custom fields you want as subscriber attributes).
- Confirm the email field you'll use is populated and valid for the records you plan to sync.
Steps
- In the platform, open the integrations area and choose Salesforce. (Confirm the exact menu path in your account.)
- Start the connection and sign in to Salesforce when prompted. Authorize the connected app so the platform can read (and, if chosen, write) the objects you selected.
- Choose the Salesforce objects to sync (for example, Leads and Contacts) and set the record scope or filter that defines your audience.
- Map Salesforce fields to subscriber attributes. At minimum, map the email address; add any fields you want available for personalization or segmentation.
- Set the sync direction and schedule, then decide how duplicates and updates are resolved.
- Save and run an initial sync.
Result
The initial sync completes and matching Salesforce records appear as subscribers with their mapped attributes. New and updated records flow on the schedule you set, and mapped fields become available when you build audiences and personalize Editions.
