Submit a Broadcast for Approval
Send a scheduled Broadcast into the approval workflow so a reviewer signs off before it goes out.
Approval workflow adds a sign-off gate between building an Edition and sending it. Once you submit, the Broadcast is locked for review: a designated reviewer checks the content and audience, then either approves it (allowing it to send at the scheduled time) or returns it to you with feedback.
Before you begin
- Finish and proof your Edition — content, subject line, and personalization tokens should be final, because editing may be locked after submission.
- Confirm the target subscriber audience and the send schedule (date and time).
- Make sure an approval workflow is enabled for your account or Folder, and that at least one reviewer is assigned. (confirm the exact steps in your account)
- Send yourself or your team a preview so reviewers know what to expect.
Steps
- Open the Edition you want to send from its Project Folder.
- Choose the option to send or schedule the Broadcast, then set the audience and the scheduled send time.
- Select the approval action (for example, Submit for Approval) instead of scheduling it directly. (confirm the exact label in your account)
- Add a note for the reviewer if a comment field is available — call out anything you want them to check.
- Confirm the submission. The Broadcast moves into a pending or "awaiting approval" state, and the assigned reviewer is notified.
Result
The Broadcast shows a pending-approval status and will not send until a reviewer approves it. When approved, it sends at the scheduled time; if returned, you'll receive the reviewer's feedback and can revise and resubmit. Track its status from the Folder or Broadcast list.
