Send an ad-hoc drip

An ad-hoc drip lets you send a short, timed sequence of Editions to a chosen audience without standing up a full, ongoing automation. Use it for a one-time nudge series — an event reminder, a re-engagement push, or a follow-up after a Broadcast — where you want a couple of messages spaced over hours or days and then you're done.

Before you begin

  • The Editions you want to send are built and ready in your Folder (Project Folder). A drip usually needs at least two.
  • A defined audience of subscribers — a saved list or a segment — to enter the drip.
  • Permission to create automations and to send. If you don't see the automation option, ask your account admin.
  • Decide the timing (delay between messages) and the exit condition before you start.

Steps

  1. Open the automation area and create a new drip (or short sequence). (confirm the exact steps in your account)
  2. Give it a clear name so you can find it later, e.g. "Event reminder — one-off".
  3. Set the entry audience: choose the saved list or segment whose subscribers should receive the drip.
  4. Add each Edition as a step in the order you want them delivered.
  5. Set the delay before each step (for example, send step one immediately, step two after 2 days).
  6. Add an exit or stop condition where appropriate — for example, remove subscribers who reply or convert so they stop receiving the series.
  7. Send a test to yourself and review each Edition's rendering and personalization.
  8. Activate the drip. Because it's ad-hoc, plan to pause or turn it off once the audience has finished the sequence.

Result

Subscribers in your chosen audience begin receiving the Editions on the schedule you set. You can confirm delivery and engagement in the drip's reporting, and pause or stop it at any time.
