Control content visibility by audience
Show or hide sections of a microsite based on who the signed-in visitor is, so each subscriber sees only the content that applies to them. This builds on gated access: once a visitor signs in, you can tailor what they see by the attributes or group they belong to.
Before you begin
- A published microsite with sign-in (gated access) already enabled, so visitors are identified when they view the page. (confirm the exact steps in your account)
- The subscriber attributes or group memberships you want to target — for example region, product, role, or a custom field. These must already exist on your subscriber records.
- A clear plan for what each audience should see, and a sensible default for anyone who doesn't match a rule.
Steps
- Open the microsite in the editor and select the section, block, or component you want to control.
- Open its visibility (or conditional display) settings and add a rule. (confirm the exact steps in your account)
- Choose the subscriber attribute or group to match on, an operator (such as equals, contains, or is one of), and the value or values that should see the content.
- Add more rules if needed and set how they combine (match all vs. match any).
- Set the fallback: decide whether non-matching visitors see alternative content or nothing at all.
- Save, then use preview-as (or a test subscriber in each audience) to check every variation before publishing.
Result
Signed-in visitors see only the sections that match their attributes, while others see your fallback content. Confirm by previewing as subscribers from different audiences and verifying each sees the expected version.
