Create and assign topics
Topics are labels you attach to microsite content so subscribers can filter what they see and so you can build personalized, topic-driven feeds. Create a reusable set of topics once, then assign them to individual items as you publish.
Before you begin
- Confirm you have permission to manage topics for the microsite or collection. (confirm the exact steps in your account)
- Sketch a short, consistent topic list before you start — a handful of clear, non-overlapping labels works better than dozens of similar ones.
- Decide whether topics should be visible to subscribers (as filter chips or a feed selector) or used only internally for organizing and reporting.
Steps
- Open the collection or microsite whose content you want to tag, and go to its topics (or taxonomy) management area.
- Create each topic by adding a name and, if available, a description or display label. Keep names short and reader-friendly, since subscribers may see them.
- Save the topic list so it becomes available for assignment across your content.
- Open a content item (an article, page, or entry), find its topic field, and select one or more topics that apply.
- Repeat for each item you want tagged. Assign only the topics that genuinely fit so filtering stays accurate.
- Publish or re-publish the tagged items so the topics take effect for subscribers.
Result
Tagged content now appears under its assigned topics. Subscribers can filter or follow topics they care about, and you can reuse the same topics to drive personalized feeds and topic-based reporting.
