Sync a Store and Send Product Content
Connect a product catalog and send personalized product Editions that stay in step with your store.
Scenario
You run an online store and want your emails to reflect what's actually in stock — new arrivals, price changes, back-in-stock items — without an Author hand-copying product details into every Edition. This playbook connects your catalog to your account so product data flows in automatically, then uses that data to build Broadcasts that are personalized to each subscriber and always current at send time.
Prerequisites
- A product catalog you can export or expose (a data feed, spreadsheet, or store API). (Confirm the supported catalog formats and connection method in your account.)
- An audience segmented by interest, purchase history, or behavior so product picks are relevant.
- A Folder (Project Folder) set aside for product Editions so drafts and templates stay organized.
- Personalization set up, so product fields can be dropped into content as tokens.
Steps
- Connect the catalog. Import or link your product feed so items, prices, images, and stock status are available in your account. Schedule a regular refresh so the data stays in step with your store — describe the cadence you need and (confirm the exact sync options in your account).
- Map your fields. Match catalog columns (name, price, image URL, product link, availability) to the fields your Editions will reference. See Personalization tags.
- Build a reusable Edition. In your product Folder, create a template that pulls product fields via tokens instead of hard-coded text. Add fallbacks for missing prices or images.
- Target the right subscribers. Segment your audience so each subscriber sees products that fit their interests or history.
- Preview and test. Send a seed test, confirm links resolve to live product pages, and check that sold-out items are handled gracefully.
- Send the Broadcast — or automate it to recur as the catalog refreshes.
Measure success
Track open and click rates on product Broadcasts, click-through on individual product links, and downstream conversions from your store analytics. Compare stock-driven sends (new arrivals, back-in-stock) against your baseline. See the Metrics dictionary.
